Something I often hear that bothers me is that the general American public consists of sheepish slaves to the media. This statement is often said by somebody who loves politics and tends to treat them as one would treat sports, fighting for their home team and demonizing others. What I've noticed though is that somebody who's passionate about politics isn't necessarily intelligent about politics and somebody who doesn't give a rat's ass about politics isn't necessarily a slave to the media. The ...

There are many individuals in society that believe that oppose capital punishment. Supposedly, capital punishment is an inhumane act that doesn't rehabilitate criminals, but punishes them in a vindictive way that they argue is unethical. If they are right, and society should rehabilitate criminals rather than punish them, then I can't help but wonder why they ignore the inhumane act of imprisonment, which too, punishes and vindicates rather than rehabilitates. Revenge Is Wrong Let's say th...

Today is the day on which Adolf Hitler was born. It is also the day on which two sociopathic teenagers murdered over a dozen of their peers as well as the day to celebrate the use of marijuana. Was it a coincidence that hippies and murderers declared the twentieth of April as a holiday, or were they secretly celebrating their hatred of Jews and loyalty to the National Socialist ideology? It's possible that it might be a coincidence just like it's possible that neo-Nazis were not influenced by Na...

If you ask most poor people who blame society for the fact that they can't afford the home entertainment system they've been coveting with the income they receive from their welfare checks, they'll tell you that the rich live comfortably and luxurious without having to lift a finger. However, since the only rich people they see are the ones from their favorite soap operas, one can't take them seriously. I, however, personally know at least two rich individuals and the example they set for me lea...

If there's one thing I've noticed about Europe, it's that its belief that negotiations are best only applies to everybody excluding Europe. After all, when there was trouble in Yugoslavia, rather than try to negotiate a peaceful resolution, which was very possible, they decided to use force to exercise their will. However, when the U.S. used force against Iraq, they criticized that the U.S. used force when force, they claim, was not necessary. A few years later, Europe criticizes Israel for usin...

When one speaks of abortion, the common argument from pro-choicers is that since the fetus is inside a woman's body, only she should decide whether or not she wants to keep it. After all, it would be wrong for us to tell a woman what to do with her own body. However, are pro-choicers really pro-choice or just pro-abortion? Find out if you're really pro-choice or willing to take away a woman's choice with this fancy quiz I designed! Pro-Choice or Pro-Abortion? Simply decide whether or ...

Gay marriage advocates love to compare themselves to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and how he fought for the rights of everybody, but such a comparison is insulting. What made Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. such a great man was that he didn't just fight for his own rights, but rights of others as well. However, even though marriage is forbidden to many others of different lifestyles besides homosexuals, you'll never hear about gay marriage advocates protesting or fighting for the rights of these oth...

I just saw a commercial for the hit movie, The Punisher . I wonder how a liberal feels about the movie... Can you believe that they're making a movie about a "hero" who goes around killing murderers, rapists, and child molesters? That's the most appalling thing I've ever seen, even more so than when the vicious Allies bombed Germany in World War II when the clear solution was to negotiate a peace treaty with Adolf Hitler, who would have been more than willing to resolve the issue, much lik...

I'll be honest. I'm biased in favor of the U.S. and Israel. However, I like to think that my biases don't blind me from the truth. If Israel or the U.S. did something atrocious, I would definitely not condone such actions. I'd go so far as to condemn them. I also thought that those against the U.S. and Israel would do the same. I was wrong. People like to pretend that the U.S. is pure evil while the U.N. can do no wrong, yet with the recent actions taken by its Security Council, which attemp...

It is the city of spooks. It is the city of crooks. It is the city of Coolsville. It is the city of Gotham City. In Coolsville, you can expect to be scared by a man in a ghost mask. In Gotham City, you can expect your entire family to be murdered by a psychotic villian. In Coolsville, a band of meddling kids foils the plans of these masked criminals long before there are any casualties. In Metropolis, Batman foils the plans of these villians after they have already destroyed a number of lives....

Ever see The Odd Couple? That's what I think of when I think of the battle between liberals and conservatives. Both live together in the same country but with very different beliefs. After years of experiencing life on both sides of the fence, as well as observing my peers, I think I have found the basic differences of each group. Although my views aren't completely objective, I do think that they are accurate. 1. Government Intervention Conservative View: Pessimistic. Conservatives think ...

For some time, I've tried to figure out why some can criticize the ousting of Hussein while supporting the ousting of Milosevic. There was an article about this on this site previously, but it seemed to focus on the fact that Milosevic was attempting to kill people of one group, which is unforgivable, while Hussein was killing a variety of people, which liberals seem to think is a despot's right. Maybe it's just me, but killing 100,000 people from many groups and killing 100,000 people of one gr...

The California Supreme Court has just halted the homosexual marriages that were taking place in San Francisco. Whether or not the gay marriages will continue will be decided in May or June. Whether or not Utah will now fight for its constitutional right to have husbands marry multiple wives is still unknown. One thing is for sure though: this lesson has definitely taught Art Adams and Devin Baker, two men who were about to wed when the government finally stepped in, a lesson that if "you snooze,...

As an avid reader of JoeUser.com , the most controversial site on the Internet , you are aware of the war between the rich and the poor . The poor demand that the rich aid them with aid to aid them in life , while the rich demand that anybody who's poor should quit begging and get a job . After some very insightful articles by Bakerstreet , I have to side with the rich in spite of the sheer incompetence of the poor. However, I cannot deny that I too am an incompetent buffoon and woul...

Many people state that incest must be kept illegal because children bred out of incest tend to be genetically undesirable, afflicted with disorders that will only poison the human race. However, what these individuals forget is that there are many other afflictions out there that do not require an incestuous relationship to spread into offspring. For example, sickle cell disease, heart disease, cololor blindness, and baldness are all inherited from one's parents. A child can even receive HIV fro...
