I want to convert to a lifestyle entirely of Macs, which is why I immediately jumped when I heard that I'd be able to get a PowerMac. However, there are a few problems: 1) the PowerMac is an old G3 model (you could tell it's old as it still has it still has room for a floppy disk), and 2) I'd have to give my 2.2Ghz P4 to my brother since I wouldn't want to have two desktop PCs as that would just be weird.

I'm really not sure how much power a G3 PowerMac has, but checking out some of the models on eBay (which I think are the type that it is), people do seem to be able to use modern software with it. Still though, I'm sure many would agree that this would be like dumping a super good computer in exchange for a decent but very old computer. But I so want to be a Mac bigot!

A real Mac Bigot would get a cutting edge Mac and not some crappy G3.

Oh I wish I could afford a G5. Sadly, I spent all my money on my iBook G4, which means that I'll have to wait until I find a job to be on the cutting edge.

True, the G3 is much weaker than the PC I currently have, but it's more complicated than that. It'd be like choosing between marrying Jessica Simpson or Alyson Hannigan.

Why not just load your PC up with either Linux or BSD?  A Mac is just an overpriced BSD box with a pretty case anyways.

Well, I really am not interested in BSD or Linux. It's either OS X or XP for me.

OS X is really just BSD with an Apple GUI on top.
