We are a heterosexist society, which depending on who you are, might be a good or bad thing. Besides marriage, there are many other areas of society that advocates of gay marriage might want to check out if they're seeking to end discrimination against homosexuals. For example, in our schools, there are homecoming parades, with a homecoming king and a homecoming queen. What about the possibility of a homecoming king and a homecoming king, or a homecoming queen and a homecoming queen (or for another topic, homecoming king and ten homecoming queens)? I think if we really want to end the heterosexist nature of society, we need to also crush it in our schools, lest children inherit this seemingly bad trait to assume that being gay is not normal. That's why rather than voting for a homecoming king and a homecoming queen, students should vote for a homecoming partner 1 and a homecoming partner 2. That way, it won't always be a boy and a girl who are king and queen, but it can be a boy and a boy, a girl and a girl, a transexual and a boy, etc.
