Four Days in Purgatory
Published on January 19, 2005 By messybuu In Life Journals

I arrived home last night after four bittersweet days in New York City.

Except for the fits and the cold weather, I enjoyed New York. Sure, everything, especially the hot dogs and the Hilton Times Square, was overrated, but the perpetual lights and schools of people made great eye candy, the rush of the subway trains reminded me of Great America, and the people were much nicer than expected. I don’t know why anybody suggested avoiding black people. They obviously didn't differ from anybody else. The six stories of Macy*s was tiresomely impressive. I should have bought those Timberlands. The best part of New York, though, had to be that pizzeria. It had the best pizza I ever tasted! I’ll miss that most of all.

I’d return to New York, but I’d make sure to have tickets to Saturday Night Live beforehand. I also wouldn’t splurge on room service, because those who would offer to pay the bill would change their minds again as they did during checkout. If I returned to New York, I’d definitely bring my iBook. I need an anchor to my reality when across the country.

Although New York’s fun, Modesto’s much better. It has all that New York offers except the theaters, the infestation of people, and the dirtiness . Modesto might be the hotspot for car theft and infamous murderers, but everything in Modesto, from its stores to its baseball team, surpasses New York's offerings.

I don't like recycling, but I really wanted to share this journal entry with more than the few people who read my LiveJournal.
