When you think of Modesto, you probably think of the murders of Chandra Levi and Laci Peterson, but that's all about to change now that the Modesto A's, the younger brother of the Oakland A's, is dead! After much deliberation, the community has chosen a successor, and the new name is sure to place the modest city in the spotlight once again! Prepare to go nuts over the ultimate baseball team: the Modesto Nuts!

The Nuts received the majority of the vote as new name of the team, beating such possible names like the Dusters, the Balls, and the Rippers. The community hopes that the new name will attract tourists to the nutty city. Shirts, toys, and other memorabilia are already in production.
